The Bavaria Germany located pet food producer Josera will erect a new plant next to its existing facility in Kleinheubach. Both the raw materials silos as well as the intermediate- and the finished goods silos, will be executed as modular square bins.
Dimensioning of a silo often starts – if not limited by available space – with a certain capacity requirement. We hear you think: “That’s easy!”. Length multiplied by width and height gives you the capacity in m3. Times the specific gravity gives you the tons. True and indeed easy.
The East coast Delaware based Dogfish brewery will extend its malt storage together with Bühler Inc. (MN, USA). TSC is selected to deliver the large 4x4mtr profiled wall silos, every single bin has a capacity close to 200m3.
The Deinze Belgium based oil mill Vandamme processes corn and sunflower seeds into edible oils. An important byproduct of the extraction process is corngerm meal and sunflower meal. This meal is pelletized and finds its way into the feed industry.
In line with the growing Nigerian beer market, the Heineken owned Nigerian Breweries Plc. will extend its production capacity at their Aba production location. Part of the extension is a new raw material silo for barley and malt.
Square silos in the chemical industry are not very common. But as in every other industry, space is scarce. The Flint Group’s heatset ink production site in the Netherlands recognized the benefits of square as to round silos.
Silos are tall buildings, up to 40 meters or even more. But even 10 meters is an unpleasant height to look down from. Imagine installing such a silo! TSC has an installation crew with brave men. But even brave men need risk assessment.
After a successful Austrian grain storage project last year, TSC will execute a new project in Austria. This year it concerns a new bulk loading street for feed pellets. Main contractor is IFK Schüttgut Technik, end user Lugitsch Futtermühle.
The Dutch inland port facility DOK will considerably extend its square storage silo capacity. DOK focuses heavily on the transhipment of raw materials for animal feed.
Emsland Flour Mills, situated in the western state of Niedersachsen, Germany will extend its silo storage capacity. This will be designed and executed by the Bavarian based main contractor Ing. Stefan Kastenmüller GmbH.
During Q3 and Q4 2013 two large square silo installations will be erected in Germany. Both projects concern greenfield feed mills and are turn-key projects of Ottevanger Milling Engineers from the Netherlands.
