Flour: Wheat, flour and bran
In the winter of 2020/2021, the Huemer family commissioned a huge extension and modernization of their existing flour mill. The silo and machine tower, with a concrete substructure over 30 meters high, enables the Huemer family to more than double their production output. And, just as importantly, to process a greater variety of raw materials.
A large number of technical challenges have come together in the silo structure. Both our profiled and smooth wall silos were used, but an already existing silo was also rebuilt within the structure. The rectangular grain silos could not be supported in the middle, so the structure was calculated to span 9 meters. Finally, the machine tower has an atypical shape due to the various corners that had to be made. The flow of the adjacent stream necessitated this narrowing. And all this on a 12-meter-high concrete building, which also served as the foundation for the silo building.
This shows that no project is the same, even though our basis is.
At a considerable height, we actually built a complete factory in a limited area. It contained everything we could, and with the high standards of finish that a Getreidemühle demands. And that under the winter conditions of Austria. A lot of challenges in this project, but that only makes the end result - a satisfied customer and a beautiful building - even better.
Procedure The regulations of the industry, the properties of the material, the geographical conditions of the construction site, the weather conditions in the region… we leave nothing to chance. We therefore work according to the TSC roadmap. This way, we work efficiently and do not overlook any detail. A solid approach for a solid result.
